Golden hour family session

I have been cooped up in the studio or shooting midday (something about the harsh light/shadows has been speaking to me lately), so this was my first golden hour session of 2023. There is a certain special feeling you get when it’s nice weather and you’re shooting in the evening glow and I gotta say, I am feeling super energized for more golden hour sessions to come this summer!

This family opted to do an in-studio newborn session of just their baby and then do family photos once life settled down a bit, and I gotta say I LOVE that idea. It takes the stress off of the parents needing to be photo ready right after coming home from birthing a baby, and in this case it gave it time for the weather to warm up and do some sweet photos outside. We still have all the brand new baby squish details from the newborn session, baby is still small and itty bitty in their family photos, and it all just worked out so well.
