Location plays a major part in the overall concept of your shoot. It is vital to the process that you pick a place that feels like you. Gone are my days of scouting and picking locations in order to try and find something that “looks pretty.” All locations hold their own magic because what makes them, will be you. If you are feeling stuck, some options to consider are:

1. doing them in your home :)

2. using an outdoor setting here on my property outside of Athens, Ohio

3. picking your favorite activity or outing with your loved ones

Please wear what feels best for you and always start there. After that, the location you decide on should also help dictate what you wear so it makes sense in the overall concept of telling your story. Coordination is important, accessories and fun details add depth and interest, but ultimately you want to convey a message that feels true to who you are. Once you book a session with me, I am here as a sounding board and give my professional guidance on how to style and prep for your session- it can even be done with options you already have in your closet!

My approach to your images is a very hands-off and gentle guidance through interactions. I do not shuffle you through poses or smiles. There is space for you to show up as yourselves and I will too- turning your real life into works of art and print-worthy images. You can be certain that you will have someone there who accepts you and sees you in a way that you might not notice yourself. I am trained and prepared to direct and guide you through a fun, interactive experience using my craft for handling and appreciating various lighting, strong compositions, and tasteful movement while maintaining a heavy emphasis on artfully capturing imperfections and authentic moments.
